Howard Shapland – CEO
Howard is a marketing and business development executive with BioVenture Development Limited and a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 13485:2016. He holds a Diploma in Business Studies and has formal training in business development, marketing & business management as well as product & project development – primarily in the biotechnology industry. He has over 25 years’ experience in the field. For 15 years he held senior positions with the multinational pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories (US). During this time, he was based in Australia, Europe and the Middle East.
Howard established BioVenture Development in 2009. The company provides regulatory & compliance consultancy, business & project development in the biotechnology sector. Howard has worked with International Medical Devices PLC, as Regulatory and Compliance Manager to introduce ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems to the group, CE Mark medical devices and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Professor Scott Glickman – CMO
Professor Scott Glickman FRCS is a rehabilitation physician in the UK, with over 35 years in clinical practice. He set up The Academic Medical Rehabilitation Unit in Imperial College School of Medicine and has extensive community-based rehabilitation experience working in both England and Scotland. His specialist interests include multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and neuro-urology, colonic function and spasticity. His research publications are broad-based in these fields.
Regarding healthcare technology Scott is an award winner and has produced several patented inventions. He was an assessor for i4i, a UK government healthcare technology grants funding body and an assessor for the development of government-funded healthcare technology cooperatives as well as a research grant reviewer for The MS Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Scott was a founder and trustee of both ASPIRE, a UK national spinal cord injury charity, and MOTIVATION, an international healthcare technology provider charity.
Mark Donaldson – CFO
Mark is a professional financial manager and a qualified accountant (FCCA), Mark has worked with SME’s across the East Anglia region. He brings with him a considerable amount of hands on experience, a strategic mind and strong focus on reporting. In addition to a career in practice working with a wide range of clients from start-ups to large established groups, Mark has operated as Finance Director with a manufacturing business since 2002 and in 2009 established his consultancy business; Mint Consult. He has worked with many companies and individuals over the past 10 years and recent projects include AIM IPO, Equity fundraising, pricing strategies – maintaining and improving profitability, development of KPI’s and integrated MI systems, research and preparation of information for tenders, preparation of detailed budgets and cash flow forecasts. Mark founded www.cascade.bi which is a software business focused on Sage dashboard reporting and analytics for the SME market.
Ahmed Al-Ziat – Business Development and Marketing Manager
A Serial Entrepreneur with a background in Information Technology, Computer Networks and Data Management; with an experience in Business Analysis, Digital Marketing and Sales.
Graduated from University of East Anglia with a master’s degree in Marketing and Management.
Currently involved in Regulatory Affairs, Marketing and Business Development at UroPharma.
Gabriel Korn – Administration Manager
Lyubov Zaitseva – Scientific Officer
Lyubov has been a Senior Research Associate in the in the University of East Angla – Norwich Medical School, investigating pathways and processes involved in the initiation, progression and drug resistance of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML); a Senior Research Associate in the School of Pharmacy, investigating NF-κB and HO-1 in apoptosis mechanisms of human Acute Myeloid Leukaemia; a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Wohl Virion Centre in University College London Medical School; researching about identification of cellular factors involved in HIV-1 nuclear import and the definition of the intracellular pathways used by HIV-1 to reach the nucleus.
